Gore Place
Engage in a timeless piece of Massachusetts history at Gore Place – The Historic Governor Gore Estate, located just minutes from our hotels in the greater Waltham area. Tour this early 1800s estate of Massachusetts Governor Christopher Gore featuring a small farm, as well as a mansion that is often called "the Monticello of the North".
DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park
Nestled in a wooded, green, 35-acre setting, DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park showcases modern and contemporary American artworks by internationally acclaimed regional artists. The café serves light fare, and the museum gift shop has received top honors from national publications. The museum is closed on Mondays. The Sculpture Park is open every day.
The Charles River Public Internet Center
The Charles River Public Internet Center (CRPIC) is a nonprofit organization that provides free public access to Internet computers, free tutoring, and low-cost classes and job training. The CRPIC rents computer training labs, complete with either 12 or 20 computers plus instructor's station and projection. All rentals support their community services.
Prospect Hill Park Visit the largest park in the city (252 acres) containing the Waltham's highest hilltop. Little Prospect trail is easy and wheel-chair accessible with a beautiful view of Boston at 435 ft above sea level. Other highlights include a Dinosaur rock, well-developed trail network, picnic table and old stone walls.
Minuteman National Historical Park
Revolutionary War buffs will love our Boston Holiday Inn hotel, located just a few minutes from the Minuteman National Historical Park. The Battle Road Visitors Center commemorates the events on the opening day of the American Revolution. The North Bridge is the site of “The Shot Heard Round The World.” And Lexington Battle Green is the site of the first skirmish of the War For Independence.
Walden Pond
This is the site of Henry David Thoreau’s "Walden" and the place where guests of our Boston Holiday Inn Express can go to escape a fast-paced world. A 300-acre wooded park surrounds the tranquil 64-acre Walden pond.
Historic Lexington and Concord
Take a short drive and visit the historic sights of Concord – noted for its key roles in American history and literature, serving as the home for such famous authors as Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Then stop by the town of Lexington and stroll along the time-honored battlefields that played host to key engagements during the American Revolution.
Boston National Historical Park/Freedom Trail
If you’re looking for Boston tourism, this is one of the main attractions. Follow the red-lined path on a three-mile walk through downtown to the North End passing such sites as Granary Burial Ground, Old Corner Book Store, Site of the Boston Massacre, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere's House and the Old North Church.

Paine Estate
